Candida albicans metabolic activity reduction by benzoxaborole derivatives Influence of bezoxaboroles concentrations on metabolic activity of blastoconidial cells. MTS test (3- (4.5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-5-(3-carboxymethoxyphenyl)-2-(4-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium (MTS, Promega, USA) was used to assess C. albicans proliferation. ( A ) The suspension of C. albicans cells in medium <t>YEPD</t> at the density of 1-3 x 10 2 CFU/mL was incubated with compounds 2 and Tavaborole at the range of conc.: 0.25-256 μg/mL for 48 h at 37 ° C. ( B ) The activity of benzoxaboroles against C. albicans growing in a medium with exogenous ergosterol (exErg) at 400 µg/mL for 48 h. %viable cells = OD490 test sample/OD490 control x 100%, control means cells treated with 0.96% DMSO. The results from 3 independent experiments were analyzed. Statistically significant differences were noted between non-treated growth and treated samples (P< 0.05, Unpaired t-test).
